All Watered Up: Drinks to Sigh For

From the pages of the Scorpion, the satirical newspaper published at New Westminster in 1864, we pass on a couple of “Valuable Recipes,” for good cheer, well in advance of the holiday season, so that all might have time to perfect the formulas.

Browna Nellard’s Brandy Cocktail

Fill a tumbler quite full of cold water, then add brandy, taking care not to overflow the tumbler.

Rum Hot

Put some sugar and hot water into a glass and then drink.
